It has to get worse Mac we are only at the start as opposed to other countries that are nearing the end.
We had to get the economy moving again and people were always going to die and its just a very difficult balance.
Virus vs starvation.

I did read an interesting article why many other countries had high deaths was that the longevity was much higher as where in Africa its much lower?

Active cases 11054 an increase of 222 since yesterday.

Recoveries 11106 an increase of 996 since yesterday.

Deaths 429 an increase of 22 since yesterday.

World:

I think it was mainly so that the health services weren't overrun - they now have 20,000 more hospital beds and 27 field hospitals are been built

i dont get how we are now only spiking in South Africa.
we have implmented one of teh most severe lockdowns in the world that i have managed to read about.
it has been in place for 60 plus days. surely if it was working we would have spiked back at the beginning of May.
why would a more relaxed lockdown now be more effective when the virus is only hitting its stride.

COVID 19 worst performing pandemic in history.

lock down and social distancing is only effective when people can do it and obey - there are many ares where it is simply impossible and many other areas where it is ignored
I'm sure that the vast majority of cases are in those areas - and rapidly spreading

Recoveries 11917 an increase of 811 since yesterday.

Deaths 481 an increase of 52 since yesterday.

World:

347907 deaths increased 1146 since yesterday.

Note! a big drop in world deaths, although high in SA

We closed schools with about 200 cases and open with over 20000 cases and rising at an increasing rate...

Deaths 524 an increase of 43 since yesterday.

States deaths has gone over 100,000 on 100572

Seemingly there’s a huge shortage of testing kits in SA hence the lower positives yesterday. And lower amount tested
