LINEBACKER yet to be beaten over 2000m.However a jockey will not waste so close to a big race for nothing and therefore DOUBLE SUPERLATIVE must be taken seriously on a line through PACAYA.

My current thoughts on the P6 - but things may change by Saturday (scratchings, jockey changes etc)

R4: I do fancy Warrior, danger is Silver Operator - at a push if there is a tailwind (doubtful if one looks at the current weather forecast) one could include front runners Russian Rock and Hyde Park, but then if both Warrior and Silver Operator fail, anything can pop up

R5: Very open - fillies usually win this race, but it's not easy as Street Outlaw won in what seems a quick time (as per Formgrids and also the Computaform Speed Ratings); then the placed runners behind Pacific Green and Street Outlaw are 3kgs better off (usually quite significant with juveniles) - so I'll be including at least We 're Jamming, Cousin Casey and Bonica with PG and SQ; the PE visitors (Cliff Top my preference) are hard to judge, but could also be good enough, so if the budget allows, I don't think it is the worst decision to take the field

R6: I think Pacaya had excuses in the Guineas (trouble at the start and thus ended up miles back) and on my ratings ran to 110 in the LQP, which should make him hard to beat and is not the worst choice if one is looking for a banker; Zapatillas is steadily improving and did beat Pacaya in the Guineas, so the main danger, but not sure he can give Pacaya 3 kgs

R7: Two-horse war - would be a real surprise if anything but Real Gone Kid or Rio Querari win this - weights point to RQ, but if van Niekerk gets his timing wrong on RQ, RGK can win this; if there is to be an upset, it could be provided by Bohica, Kasimir, True to Life, Hello Winter Hello or Sound of Warning

R8: Looking at the Paddock Stakes, I think both Captain's Ransom and Chansonette have to be included - CR may have been ridden a bit 'softly' in the Paddock, while Chansonette was all out, but on the other hand Chansonette might be slightly better suited to the 1600 (but then so should CR  ); CR has a wide draw, so it could provide both Princess Calla and Zarina with the opportunity to finish in front of CR (as happened in the Garden Province - where CR had a wide draw as well) - so to be sure to survive this leg, it may be wise to include all four of them

R9: The big one, and my top 3 are Kommetdieding, Linebacker and Jet Dark - the order should depend on the pace, which is probably not going to be as hot as was the case in the LQP - if Rocking RIngo goes a canter, Jet Dark may end up pulling, which would suit the other 2; I suppose it would be foolish to not include Double Superlative, while for me all of Kommetdieding, Linebacker (who is going to be much better over the 2000 imo) and Jet Dark need to run below form (unlikely ) for Marina to beat them; Do It Again is the forgotten horse - at his best could threaten all of them, but I think he is not as good in the Cape as at Greyville - so while I'm not including him in the P6, I would not be surprised if he finishes in the places

So my suggestion - take at least one 'miss' (the ones in brackets) which means 7 perms - that way if your first choices do not arrive in 1 of the legs, you could still win it

2,4 (all the other 7)
2,4,8,11,13 (all the other 8)
6 (1)
1,4 (2,3,11,12,14)
1,8 (2,3)
4,5,6,11 (10)

Some stats for anyone interested :

1. Since 2004.. No 3yr colt or gelding has won the Met

2. Since 2010.. 3 female horses have won

3. Jet Master /Captain Al/Ideal World are most prevalent in winners pedigree.

4.Justin Snaith has only ever won 1 Met

5.Since 2004...barrrier post 8 has been most lucky with 4 winners. Barriers positions 1,3,5 have not won in any year since 2004!

Good luck all!!!
