I think Zazu has a big chance. She is a shipper from the West Coast and they have in general been much stronger than the East coast fillies. She should be closing and staying on pretty strongly in the finish!!!

When the Morning line odds maker heard that Calvin Borel was going to ride Twice the Appeal he cut his odds immediately. I don't think the horse can win but with Borel nothing is impossible in the Derby!!!!

Barry's horse set it up perfectly for Plum Pretty and Martin Garcia. I think Summer Soiree got lit up coming out the stalls. She took a bump from the 2 horse and skipped off!!!
I think Martin Garcia is having a fantastic year as mentioned above!!

Plum Pretty holds on to take Kentucky Oaks
PLUM PRETTY (Bob Baffert/Martin Garcia) just held the late charge of Rosie Napravnik and St. John's River to take the 137th Kentucky Oaks in front of a crowd of 110,122 at Churchill Downs on Friday.
Sent off a 6.3-1 chance, the daughter of Medaglia D'Oro stalked the pace set by Summer Soiree before taking charge on the far turn and establishing clear water in the straight.

Probably more sensible to play sports betting but I can't seem to get serious about it....

With Uncle Mo out, can history be made? at 14/1
Master Of Hounds bids for Kentucky history
AIDAN O'BRIEN, in such brilliant form at Chester this week, casts his net a little further a field on Saturday when Master Of Hounds bids to become the first European-trained winner of the Kentucky Derby.

What the trainers say:
'Jinks' Fires, trainer of Archarcharch
"I have always wanted to be number one but not in the Kentucky Derby starting gate. I'll just tell Jon [Court] to get good position, save ground and figure out a way to get out. It is still the shortest way around and at least I am not out next to the track kitchen."
Tom Albertrani, trainer of Brilliant Speed
"Two is not the worst post in the world for us because we don't have any natural speed anyway. I thinkhe'll find a good stalking position, get behind some speed and hope for the best. We need a good trip. I'm looking to see him run kind of the same style that he did in the Blue Grass. Maybe not last, but maybe the same distance-wise off the front."
Jeff Bonde, trainer of Twice The Appeal
"He's had a good week and the draw's beautiful - my jock [Calvin Borel] likes the wood. You know I like the spot."
Todd Pletcher, trainer of Stay Thirsty
"Stay Thirsty got all hot and washy on us in Florida but everything's gone smoothly here. He's trained very well - we're happy with how he is coming into the race."
Juan Arias, trainer of Decisive Moment
"He's got good composure, good personality and he's got ability. It is a wide-open race. He's the type of horse that goes out and tries every time. No matter how the race shapes up, he's always there to try."
Peter Miller, trainer of Comma To The Top
"The favourites didn't perform well or dropped out of the Santa Anita Derby, and we ran a bang-up race so I started to look at it and said my horse is every bit as good as these horses. He deserves a chance, so here we are - and if they try to keep up with him, they're going to feel it."
Kelly Breen, trainer of Pants On Fire
"Between Louisiana and Palm Meadows, before we came here, he kept all his weight. Even shipping back and forth, all that stuff, he didn't miss a note. He kept his weight and he looks fantastic. We're hoping that we're going to be forwardly placed and we have the horse right inside of us, Comma To The Top - it's a pretty good draw to be right outside of him."
Nick Zito, trainer of Dialed In
"He's a very lightly raced horse but horses this good are gifts. We were pretty high on him from day one, but you have to see them run. I told a bunch of people I liked this horse so when the day came and he ran and he broke not as good as he could break and he was way back and was kind of in trouble and kind of did this and did that and then he just came running, we got excited.
"We're certainly happy with our draw and I'm just confident with a horse like this. To me, he's a special horse. He always tries so hard, it's nice to have a horse like that. You know he's going to put in his run."
Mike Maker, trainer of Derby Kitten and Twinspired
"Idon't think either of my horses will have trouble at the distance and we're happy with the draw for both horses next to each other in the nine and 10. We were hoping to draw something around 10 and farther out, and pretty much we got that with both horses. Twinspired came out of the Blue Grass fine and the horse doesn't think he lost, that's the good part."
TJ Comerford, travelling head lad for Aidan O'Brien, trainer of Master Of Hounds
"I think it was always in Aidan's plan to come here and he travelled great, 100 per cent - it couldn't have gone any better. This horse ran so well in Dubai that maybe that sealed it that we would bring him here; he will improve from that run.
"If he handles the dirt, that's the thing; if he handles the dirt, he will run well. We try to bring a horse that you think might handle it. I know the last time we brought Johannesburg and Castle Gandolfo.
"He broke well in Dubai. He was actually first out in that. He's no slouch. Hopefully, he will run well. I think he will. He's coming here with a good chance. We think he has, anyway."
Eddie Kenneally, trainer of Santiva
"He's in great shape, no problems. He had a terribletrip with no running room at Keeneland in the Blue Grass. He didn't get everything out of the race like we would have liked. But he was fit going into the race, so we'll be fine. He's plenty fit and the 12 is a perfect spot - we're very happy with where we've drawn. We do have some speed horses outside of us so we'll likely fall in behind them."
Kathy Ritvo, trainer of Mucho Macho Man
"I'm just blessed and fortunate that he's doing so well here. We haven't had anything to deal with. He loves the mud and he loves the track. I'm honoured to be here. I'm excited to be here. Everything's going good with the horse, so it couldn't be any better."
Dale Romans, trainer of Shackleford
"This horse reminds me a lot of Paddy O'Prado last year, who peaked at the right time [and finished third]. He couldn't be doing any better."
Bob Baffert, trainer of Midnight Interlude
"Everybody says that it's a bad field, but they're good horses - my horse is a good horse. They're good horses, but there is so much parity that they are saying is a bad field. Everybody wants bad horses and one standout horse.
"I think there are probably ten horses that have a really good legitimate chance to win. My horse is a nice horse. He won the Santa Anita Derby, a Grade 1 race, on only his fourth start so he's got raw talent but he's still learning. He didn't run as a two-year-old so he has got to buck a trend."
Graham Motion, trainer of Animal Kingdom
"He gallops fine on the dirt - he's galloped on it all winter at Palm Meadows. I think he's handled everything we've asked him to do. Ultimately, you just don't know how they are going to get over it until they run, but certainly from the way he's gone, he gives you every indication that he's going to handle it. And he's doing very well."
Kiaran McLaughlin, trainer of Soldat
"Being drawn 17 is much better than being way down inside. When we were in the 18[with Closing Argument in 2005], we finished second. Now that we're number 17, we hope to improve by one more placing. He really picked his head up since coming from Florida to this cooler weather. Going from hot to cool for a horse is like a vitamin shot. We won't mind the slop."
Ahmed Zayat, owner of Nehro
"Steve called me once in December, really excited - and that's not Steve Asmussen - and he tells me, ‘Boss, I don't know if my watch was right or if the clockers were right, but this horse worked crazy.' Steve doesn't work horses that fast and Fair Grounds is not a fast track. That was telling.
"This horse's energy level is unbelievable. Believe it or not, I think he's actually gained weight. This horse keeps showing us every sign of a horse that is going to put in a big performance. He's giving every indication that he's getting better. The most important thing is, when I look at him I see a very happy horse, a very healthy horse."
Kathleen O'Connell, trainer of Watch Me Go
"He travels nice, and he's a good mover over the track. I feel good about how he's doing here. I think it would be a great honour, whether I was male or female, to win the Derby."
