The big difference for me regarding the Proteas bowling attack is Taheer, he brings another dimension which the Proteas have always lacked.
Can we even compare Taheer bowling on the fifth day versus Paul Harris and his lollipops !

2nd test will be a whole new ball game as the ball swings big time there. I think that England will come out with all guns blazing.

If it swings there then Philander will be very difficult, if the pitch comes up green then A Morkel comes in for the leggie, either way problems for England.

The latest ICC ratings make very interesting reading: In the test batting rankings we have Kallis, Alma, De Villiers and Smith in the top 6...in the bowling Steyn has been number 1 for ages with Philander at 4 and Morkel at 6. In the one dayers we have Alma and De Villiers at 1 and 2...with Tsotsobi number 1 and Morkel number 6 in the bowling..
Can you believe that there are still people that doubt Smith when his rating and average as an opening batmen put him in the super super elite bracket. No opening batsmen has an average of over 50 like he does. Interestingly there are no Indian batsmen in the top 10 test batting ratings which is strange given the pithes thay play on.

England wont make any changes to their team as there aren't that many other South Africans available to play test cricket for them. They have a few one day specialist South Africans that turn out for the one day side. They will keep Bresman in the team because Headingley is his home ground. I remember in 1998 when England beat us by 20 or so runs at Headingley. 5 of our batsman were given out LBW.

Many will remember that Pakistani umpire...he was nearly as bad as Darryl Hare.
