must get Bell out as he can bat for long periods. Funny how the English media were saying that England will win the series 3-0 at the end of the first days play. Then for 2 days they were saying that this is a flat pitch. Wonder what they will be saying in the papers in the morning?

One of the nice things about being a follower of England in recent years is situations such as the one they now find themselves in are not automatic defeats as they once used to be. Sure, 99% certain they will lose but there is now still hope of a miracle whereas previously there was none. Bell is a class batsman, my favourite, and there is always a chance he will bat all day, Bopara has the ability and if he can bring along a steelie temperament then he can do likewise and score quickly, Prior can get a 100 in 130 balls and Bresnan and Broad are no mugs, Swann has shown a number of times he can get 50 quickly and Anderson is not the world's worst no 11. SA have played outstanding cricket to date but though it appears to be over, they still have some work to do... likely they will get that work done quickly but I wouldn't bet my life on it!

Yip Englander, England have the longest batting line up in test cricket. The first session for England will be crucial if they lose none or one wicket they will feel they have a chance at surviving but two or more and they will battle. The plus in England's favour is that the pitch is not doing too much and if applying themselves they can still save the test. SA mustn't take their foot off the gas as they will still need to bowl well to win.

I still don't know why these two sides can't get a five test series. :S
