Get Strauss and Cook out quickly and England will fall over like a drunk hooker on a Friday night.

Have SA got another 50 in them?

Probably not :( - much would depend on the weather I suppose - cloudy start, new ball - if England get Philander early, I doubt that SA would reach 280; if sunshine and Philander stays for a while, who knows? But it could be immaterial whether SA make 280 or 320, the crunch will be when England get to the crease.......

Is this for a bet Bob? I'd rather stick a pin in a 16 runner field if so! But, I think if England are to win they will have to get them out with certainly no more than 50 more scored, conditions look like they may make batting tricky today and it could be that days 3 and 4 are best. I would bet "no" but then I'm English :)

If Steyn keeps his head I bet that he will beat his top score of 76.

To my couch player eye the pitch did not seem to have too many demons. The new ball was doing something last night... but SA will need to get 3 wickets in the first 20 overs otherwise they will be facing a first innings deficit. that said, England cannot just go and accumulate... they will need to score at around 3 - 3.5 runs an over to ensure they give themselves a chance to bowl SA out again...

If I was to have a bet it would be for Morne Morkel to get a fifer .... 6 for 82 in fact (tu)

Without Pieterson the England run rate will not be high. This will, as Magi suggests, take time out of the game. Great weather predicted for Saturday and Sunday.

Still cant understand why Smith batted first. Did he not consult the weather forcasters? Mind you if you go by what that ditzy bird on Sky News says then you have no chance of finding out what the real weather will be until you yourself experiance it at the time.
