Rob F I think ages ago we said that the majority of people who actually work in this industry think that it is 90% horse and 5% each the Trainer/jockey. I have spoken to top jockeys/trainers/owners and some have even gone bigger on the horse side. Soo dum, please stop trying to prove your name is really apt for yourself. J D it was the talk of the course earlier when I was there. I see it was brought up in this thread before I went racing and then heard it myself on course but thought I would just wait and see what came up. Be interesting to see the outcome because if as I heard on course,it is all on email and the NHRA were given strict instructions that only Paul could scratch the horse and no one else. I will look forward to the truth.

Craig the great gold circus spin doctor,do you think that if you had the exact same staff, horses, owners, money that mdk has you would have achieved the same results in dubai this season,as you and every other trainer in kzn have the same ability as him?

Btw craig the constitution ensures me freedom of speech and IMO of which I'm very entitled to,luck has nothing to do with anything, you good or you bad,and kzn has more bad trainers than good ones

I actually think he does believe that.

If Mentor moves ALL his horses, there will probably be 10 left in the stable

Makes sense! ........I will guess that in racing +-80% of the success lies with no more than 20% of the participants......(have no figures to back that up but only because that figure is true of many other industries)
That would mean that the "majority" are lower down the food chain..........and their views are therefore predictable!

Unless you give everyone the same opportunity to do it you will never know. It is like saying Sea Cottage is better than Politician or whoever your favourite horse is. Unless they race together at level weights you can say all you want but never know. Mike has done a great job overseas for SA racing and has been a great ambassador and inovator but who knows that someone else would not have had the same great success training.

Craig do you feel you entitled to that opportunity or do you need to produce results to earn the opportunity?

Why dnt you go canvass jooste, van niekerk, shirtliff, adams etc hell even email the sheik if you so confident you have the ability but sadly been unlucky in that you been cursed with bad horses

RF, included in the people I asked were Anton Marcus and Michael Roberts. Believe it if you want but by the looks of the previous posts there are people here who know more than them. Amazing!
