Horses that I know that went to de kock and improved leaps n bounds from previous trainer. I won't mention the previous trainer.
Delta Form
Sepia
Double Reef - went to trainer A after Payne relocated, never showed at A but was tops at de Kock.
Ingleside - trained on after P Shaw relocated.
And these horse were with Payne before he relocated and went to de Kock. You could say they were well bred horses with ability but at least they went on as fillies are temperemental.

Going back to the business of support staff - part of the skill (maybe the main part?) is picking the right staff. I've seen a guy who was brilliant in business himself, flop along with his business because he picked the wrong guy as 2OC. Cv's aren't always written by the applicant, and an interview tells you very little unless you have super-sensitive antennae for a "wrong-un".
Why some people are brilliant "man-managers" is as mysterious as why some are great "animal-managers" - though doubtless there is some American self-help book being marketed out there that claims to reveal all their secrets, huh!

Some on here have bashed Herman Brown on this forum and yet he won races with Linngari,Jay peg etc. There are some on here that should take personal responsibility for the reason that most people that actually work in the game will not come on here. I wonder why I put myself through it when I have to read what is written about my friends, my profession, my colleagues, myself etc by these Einsteins that write this shit on here when they know F ALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. They can voice their opinions as it is their right but to actually believe it shows a distinct lack of brain matter. Of the 500+ people who actually make a business of this game we love called Horse racing, how many actually try and help by posting on here at al,l let alone every now and then or like myself every day. And you wonder why?:S I am going to the b and b next door to try and find some extremely drunk person so I can have a more intelligent conversation with than some that posted on here today:X.(td)

You cnt up the game if on a raceday in your own province you choose to play spin doctor on a forum instead of being on course hoping to meet some new owners and hit it "lucky" with a good horse

When we talk about great horsemen, it doesn't get better than someone who can pick a horse whose best performance to date is to win the ECape Derby (Gr 3), Lizard's Desire, and train it to win two valuable handicaps in Dubai, come second in the World Cup and Audemars Piguet QE II, and then win the Singapore Airlines Cup.
De Kock seems to do something similar year after year, taking horses of humble origins or even ones that have mental problems, and getting them right to win. Is that horsemanship or luck?
OK, so make a sneer about screaming groupies and fanclubs. I plead guilty, but I'm not shy about it at all.

If you at your stables I fully understand why you have time to debate on a forum!
Not much happening there I suppose
