And Beach Beauty as well...problem is her draw...but she has the class...!

Personally, im not in the beach beauty camp this year....

Yorker has improved with every run, recon he is better than when he beat CTN.

Ya... Should be another "boat race" between champions....

Should be a cracking race, can't wait.

I'm on a 100 points but have some shrewdies in the background waiting for later in the season....

My best entry is on 120 points with my 2 shrewdies Captain of All and Hill54 still to come ,Hanging in there.Just excited to be somewhere up there in the top 150,

On Saturday, 31 May at Greyville Racecourse, there was a total of 105 points up for grabs in the 3 feature races. In the Gr.1 Daily News 2000, trainer Justin Snaith’s superstar, Legislate (Dynasty), secured 20 points with a five star performance beating Rake’s Chestnut (Horse Chestnut) and Highveld Horse Of The Year, Louis The King (Black Minnaloushe), they scored 14 and 10 points respectively. The Snaith yard now have a month to prepare the ruling favourite for Africa’s premier horseracing event, the Vodacom Durban July, which will be on Saturday, 5 July at Greyville Racecourse.

In the Gr.1 Woolalington 2000, In The Fast Lane (Jet Master) won impressively beating Athina (Fort Wood) and Touch The Sky (Jet Master). The latter was not in the competition and no points were scored. The winner earned 20 points and 14 points was scored for second.

It was a red letter day for trainer Justin Snaith who saddled a rare Grade 1 double on Daily News race day and the young Cape Town based trainer took a step closer to winning his first national trainer’s championship.

The Gr.3 Lonsdale Stirrup Cup attracted a competitive field. Wild Type (Mogok) made a winning debut for trainer Mike De Kock, holding off Gothic (Silvano) and Shogunnar (Solskjaer). Points scored were 9, 5 and 3 respectively.

The second bonus race in the competition, the Gr.1 Rising Sun Gold Challenge run over the Clairwood mile will take place this Saturday, 7 June and will also feature the Gr.2 Tibouchina Stakes and the Gr.3 Cup Trail, the three features worth a total of 95 points.




After the first month of the competition, the leader board is tightly bunched and it’s still a long way to the finishing post in the 2014 competition. Judging by the different permutations in the top 100 there could be dramatic changes after the Vodacom Durban July race meeting, leading into Gold Cup Day. Racing fans are in for an exciting finish to the competition. Worth noting that 2012 winner Terence Reddy aka ‘DSha” was 40 points adrift and nowhere in sight going into the last day of the competition and 2013 winner Sirshan Reddy aka “Sir’s Crackers” took a gamble by including Jackson who was a doubtful starter during Champion Season but came through to win the Gr.1 Champions Cup on the last day of the competition. Therefore, all is not lost for those that are lagging behind at this stage, there is still plenty of racing and points to be earned!




Unfortunately, the lucky spot prize draw that was scheduled for Saturday, 31 May did not go ahead and entrants can now look forward to 5 draws of a R500 telephone betting deposits (each) kindly sponsored by TAB GOLD “The Intelligent Bet” on Saturday, 7 June at Clairwood Racecourse. This is a computer generated, random draw from all entrants and not dependent on points earned.

38th place 130 points ,hanging in there
