So if Yorker doesn't run in the July and a 112 MR is the highest by an older horse, Legislate will carry 57kg's and RC and LTK carrying 56,5kg's. Big ask for a 3 year old.

methinks it makes CA a good thing, 12/1 is a nice bet.

Taking my view that the three year olds are rated too highly for their runs in three year old features, I am taking an older horse to win the July...was to take Yorker but unlikely to run so will be looking at the other older horses...will need to see which ones get in...

true, but my thinking is that he will win and go up to a 109 and then all these 3yo will be giving CA 1.5kg over 2200m and that, will make all the difference....

Don't know if he is being prepped for the race, but I would consider Hill Fifty Four for the VDJ.

Recon if Hatt feels he has the race in the bag will give him an easy ride in the closing stages to give him the smallest possible penalty. With only 11 runners in the race I wonder if the stable wishes they never took the full penalty for his last win. Would imagine they were worried he might not have qualified for the race if they didn't opt for the 101 rating.
