If we want to complain about the result then we should have first complained when they were carded. Well done connections.

i cannot see anything to congratulate in this coup. it's bad for racing and should be discouraged in the strongest way possible....

ELEGANT BAY (G Cheyne), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer H J N Kotze advised. (NS)
Trainer H J N Kotze was questioned regarding the improved performance of ELEGANT BAY. He explained that he had removed the blinkers and that this mare was better suited to the further distance of today’s race. This explanation was noted.
How does the removal of blinkers improve a horse that has won three races before with them on- Had blinkers off last time and nothing - The trainer was not even told to keep them off or asked about the betting support or how it reversed form on three other runners.

These doubles come along ever so often, happened a few times, just need to be on I guess for small money. Well just the other day Mr Goosen had a runner at the vaal which was 80/1 backed 6/1, I took a small double with Samogan and got 220/1. The 2nd biggest All to come I remember was also at Bingo Park the day Mr Vindaloo was 40/1 with another runner trained by the Von V stable which was 25/1, I remember taking 100k of that double for small money, there was another time which would have been my biggest, vaal sand quad where I had four horses to win 380k/300 and Mr Alfonso ran 2nd in the last leg, odds that day 1200/1. Never in my punting career have I caught a 2400/1 double for a silly 15 bucks, furthermore I backed each individually with Hollywood 4200/300 on the 1st and 5000/200 on the 2nd. Turffontein inside track Saturday Echuka was 33/1 and once again 10000/300 on Hollywood and 20000/600 Betting World. Point I'm trying to make is these things do happen, everyday, just look at some of the double payouts on the tote 300/1 400/1.
I will admit that something was amiss yesterday at Flamingo. It's unnatural in racing but it does happen, so for those that collected great and as for the rest I share your sentiments because from a form/punting perspective those two runners should not have had a chance to even run 2nd last. It cannot be good for the game and naturally isn't, I took a chance and it paid, but it's the complete exception.

In my opinion, it just gives the "want to be new players" the belief and proof that the game is fixed, or that it is an insiders only game. Surely this kind of thing can't help grow the sport and make people want to be involved. To me it screams that form study means nothing and insider info means everything. Maybe the industry wants it that way, who knows... If horse racing continues to decline and eventually dies due to things like this happening, maybe I will not be so sad as i thought I might have been. Winning_Post I appreciate your honesty.

I wonder how the AUS JClub would have dealt with a Monday like we've just experienced. AUS with their newly 'racing into disrepute' and 'insider trading' actions.
