How good do you guys think Marinaresco ? I think very good , but he needs to beat some better rivals before he can be classed as top class imo

Agree..there was a lot to like about his win but on the basis that he ran to about a 105 , we can't use the word "champion" yet!
If and when he meets Legal Eagle at WFA I'll be happy lay Marinaresco!

Would love to know the 400 to finish.....first time I see him run...I was VERY impressed

Biased obviously but I really do think he beats Legal Eagle at WFA. Legal Eagle has never won with the ease Marinaresco does, when he was at 3. Marinaresco always just does enough, he wins by 7,8 lengths yesterday with a clear passage and if really asked(whip never came out IIRC). Even when they meet, he'll just do enough and win by a head or so :)

as for top class rivals - what about the july? he beat all fellow 3yo's at level weights bar Abba and the supposedly best 3y0 Bela-Bela from an impossible position. Doesn't that count?

I'm with Bob. I think he has been fantastic his last few, and is absolutely top class.
While he was brilliant yesterday , and indeed is probably an absolute champ, I would still not take him at worse odds than Legal Eagle or even one or 2 of the other 3yos at wfa quite yet.

Was a hellava performance yesterday though, having to insist on that gap opening and then blowing them away.

Horses that win by big distances don't always turn out to be good
Legal eagle proved that he went to the cape and made the best miler look average in his back yard
Hope legal stays fit and well and takes on the these four year olds hopefully he can pull of the met

The outside draw on this track does not seem to be any issues.

I'm also favoring Marinaresco - but it would have been great for racing if LE ran in the July; let's hope they meet in the Cape and then hopefully the Marinaresco connections will be brave enough to make the trip to Joh'burg

Would Abashiri not beat Marinaresco at levels? the form book says so
