Kenilworth on Thursday 30/11/2017

Race 1: Here is another classy little sort that I have marked in my book - Flower Of Carmel. Pity about the odds - since i can only play this sort around 2/1 - but I would think full value for anyone looking to take the 9/10 . Runaway Rebel is going to run above form and improve on all previous races - but i cannot be sure it will be enough to beat Flower Of Carmel. Forehand, Ballroom Dance and Sports Bar would all have to show some improvement to get past this favorite.

Race 2: Not a very strong race. So the first two possibilities I looked at are: Star Burst and Love Dove - both trying the trip for the first time, and both should cope with this trip - both displayed some speed at trips probably on the sharp side for them - so plenty scope for improvement. Bikini Model and Fleur De Lis after that.

Race 3: Not a lot to get excited about here in terms of winning form lines. So unusually - the best form line here seems to be Evalina and Bushy Park in defeat to Bridal Party. Bushy Park came out after that and showed no signs of a form reversal, came out again and had to be in top shape to win so she isn't being stretched by these performances and could easily win again. The question mark is whether Evalina has also held that form or will need a race or two to get back to that mark. If she's well it could certainly be these two on top again. I would have been with Evalina outright on Class - but Bushy Park has been a totally different horse over it's last three runs - and her extended performance record doesn't reflect how well she has done in those last three.Platinum Prince is also up there with them. Thereafter there is Bon Bon, Amazingly and Hilaria that should be in the minors.

Race 4: Afdeek - solitary de Kock runner, miles from home is not here for fun. prepared to travel miles to take on the R1,000,000 Dynasty Colt and Snaith's Milden spell which was the subject of a market splurge into 12/1 from 22/1 on it's last start 320 days ago - this has gotta be something special.

Race 5: Brave Move looks like a horse that could feature later in the season, by Horse Chestnut she could be an exciting one to follow. Looks ideally placed here. I have however found the Star Of London form to have been quite strong, so that muddies things a little for me. Brave Move the proven one - Star Of London would have to step up. The others are pretty close behind, leaving little margin for error from these two.

Race 6: Here is a competitive race. Zanzibarian looks set on the surface of things - going back someway to his performance behind Platinum Prince, but there is plenty of intrigue. Starting with Opera Royal -- absolutely has to be better than recent form - it's the run behind sand and sea at what seems to have been too sharp for him that is interesting, and he does look to be improving again. I also couldn't miss Super Stratum running close up to Bizjjet, two runs back, and that he shifted out late. Cape Xtreme hasn't been impressive but could repeat last race performance and be right up there. Super Stratum and Opera Royal look interesting here. Super Stratum, even more interesting after noting that Captain's Charm in the next, from that same Sand and Sea race hasn't really achieved much.

Race 7: The most difficult on the card -- I was dancing around Triple Explosion and Best Nut Ever, but one of the lighter weights could be well in here - like Hotel Cipriano

Race 8: Coys has solid form , and I've always liked the cool at heart form , but William The Brave, Gibraltar Green and Perhaps even Spring Man should give him a race.

Race 9: Magic Sailor to beat Nasty Harry and Billy Silver - Bad Attitude could surprise..

Race 10: Sun at Midnight to hold off China Pearl.

After all of this nothing really solid here.

Flower Of Carmel: Afdeek: Super Stratum: Coys: -- All Of The above to be taken with a pinch of salt - since I can hardly keep my eye's open.

Some nice racing for a midweek card.

I like Flowers of Carmel, Platinum Class and Brave Move. Will play a few bets on those.

@ Adams...Chris Jonker won his first race today. I think you predicted it the other day. Well done.

Thanks for that --- nice to see new trainers who can make a success of thing - what was the winning horse? since I didn't follow the racing today.

Should have a big chance lionel. Form got a boost too when 4th place Sir Frenchie ran a cracker in the RTR.

Thanks MOMF...that's aligned to my thinking as well. Delpech really rates him and I'm willing to bet BS is the reason for AD making the trip up tomorrow.

That's great --- Congratulations to the stable, I was watching that with interest, and couldn't help note the similarities of performance between them and Nathan Kotzen before he got his first winner - but I really took notice when I picked Short and Sweet , discounted it based on the stables record, and it ran 2nd at 22/1 -- that made me sit up and take note :)
