GARY PLAYER TO OFFER 12 AT NATIONAL 2YO SALE
The Gary Player Stud Farm have an exceptional draft on offer at this year’s National Two Year Old Sale next month.
The farm, which has bred such high class performers as Lady Windermere, Superwood, Supper Club and Madrisa, will be offering offspring of such popular stallions as Duke Of Marmalade, Ideal World, Master Of My Fate, Pathfork Querari, and What A Winter at the 2018 Two Year Old Sale.
Excitingly, the Gary Player Stud Grooms Program are also represented on the sale, and they will be offering a colt (Lot 176) by July winning champion Greys Inn out of a three time winning daughter of the stakes winner Bravo Bamby.
Querari, whose best runners include the likes of Monks Hood and Pinnacle Peak, is represented by two here. His daughter (Lot 28) out of Winter Oaks winner Rush For John hails from the same family as champion racemare Vesta, while the Querari colt (Lot 177) out of Breeze Way has a dam who is a sister in blood to Australasian Oaks winner Grand Echezeaux (dam of multiple G1 winner and successful sire Darci Brahma).
Breeders’ Cup runner up Noble Tune has a filly (Lot 40) whose stakes placed dam is a daughter of Captain Al and G3 winner Lupine Lady, while the draft also includes a Mambo In Seattle own sister (Lot 80) to millionaire and G2 Charity Mile runner up Saratoga Dancer.
Cartier Champion Duke Of Marmalade, who is from the same family as Mambo In Seattle, is represented in the Gary Player Stud Farm draft colt (Lot 93) from the same family as outstanding gallopers Kiss Of Peace, Harry Hotspur and Rotterdam, while the Ideal World colt (Lot 166) is out of a full-sister to Dubai stakes winner Drift Ice and ¾ sister to Horse Of The Yard Yard-Arm.
Judpot, sire of current stars Coral Fever and Sniper Shot, has two lots in the draft. His son (Lot 43) out of Seven Suns hails from the same family as champions Basic Instinct, Disco Queen and French Navy, while Judpot’s other lot on offer is a filly (Lot 357) out of a winning daughter of the Danehill sired champion Laisserfaire.
Irish Champion Pathfork is enjoying his best ever season, with his runners including unbeaten G1 Allan Robertson Championship winner Mighty High, and he is represented here by a filly (Lot 330) whose four time winning dam is a sister in blood to R3 million plus earner No Worries.
Master Of My Fate is another promising sire with a 2yo in the draft, with the son of Jet Master responsible for a colt (Lot 346) out of a winning half-sister to the Gary Player bred Derby winner Superwood. Inbred to both Elliodor and Soho Secret, this colt hails from the same family as Master Of My Fate himself.
Seventh Rock has a filly (Lot 351) out of a winning daughter of multiple stakes winner Joyous Dancer, while What A Winter has a colt (Lot 414) out of a 3 time winning half-sister to 2 stakes winners, from the family of G1 winning siblings Golden Peak and Record Edge.

The catalogue has not reached Cape Town yet
How do these people expect to get sales in this economic climate if their
clients are left in the dark
And don't tell me its on the website
Not the same at all

....this was always going to be a problem...remove the daily staff and the place is wide open for burglary and vandalism...what a pity that now the place is only staffed during the sales....all that office space a total waste.... :S

.....the TBA complex is an asset and an institution for the preservation of the heritage of breeding and racing ....it is a pity that outsourcing of the sales functions and bloodstock marketing has left it vulnerable and falling into a state of disrepair.. it is becoming a white elephant....the Salesgate saga is over now.... and the sooner the TBA start consolidating and take back the control of the complex ;....by staffing it and renting out office space to equine related business then it can be saved.....on the other hand if not utilized then sell it....and hold more sales in rented venues at conference centres and casinos....

...what many others remarked about at the yearling sales is that the place "feels" empty no "buzz"....also the absence of the tote....believe their licence was not renewed....prevents those that want to have a punt and congregating for a drink to watch races during sales viewing days leading up to the sale....if no tote is provided then let visitors and potential buyers use the Wi Fi and provide better bandwidth in that time....
