Surely the problem is that the oz pools are being dumped into our pools all at once.
Is there no way the oz pools can be entered in a gradual manner, say 15 minutes and then 5 minutes before the off with the balance being submitted as they do now ?

Let me make some predictions and give the Clan punters some free advice here....
When you structure your PA's and P6's you would sometimes put in the scratched horse just so that you can get either the tote favourite or the coupling in the P6 especially.
With these comingled pools there is really NO WAY you can predict who is going to be the tote favourite. Do not and I REPEAT do not put in scratched horses and think you know which one will end up being tote favourite.
The money coming in from Hong Kong/Aus and the like is a lot bigger than ours and it is having a HUGE effect on our payouts here. According to Jack Milner (speaking on Racingweb podcast today) Hong Kong only comingle on certain weekday race meetings but as you can see by the win and place pools today they make a HUGE difference. These guys are in effect punting "blind" without knowing too much of the form but rather knowing about numbers and trainers, owners and jocks....Thats about all they know.
Tread wearily my friends as we are all going to be caught out by this new initiative!!!
What pisses me off is that PGE have not even bothered sending out a press release/news converence/whatever informing us how this comingled pools MIGHT affect us. They have left us punters to figure it out for ourselves and we are learning by losing money.....That can't be good PR?!?!?!?!?
A simple article in a paper and on Tellytrack will help us out.......
Why so quiet Phumelela? We aren't asking to see your agreements with these international countries, we simply want you to explain to the betting public how these bets will work so that we know how it affects us.....The people who never leave your side or fail to support the racing industry here in SA.
Margaret, could you ask your bosses to please explain? I think we deserve that at least??????

Do the bookies not take place bets?
I know you guys have to use the tote to support the stakes, looks like the small pools in SA are not standing up to a few heavy hitters from overseas?
Use the tote for the PA and Jackpot only?

Yip, Tommy, I have to agree, it is not really the fact that this is happening that p*sses on off; it is that fact that nobody even hinted that this may happen with the miracle of co-mingling.

OK the plot thickens.El Kapitaine, running in my colours.5/1 on the books- pays R3.50 a win and R1 a place.
Therefore the aussies and/or vietnamese knew something.....Cr@p.........there was nothing to know....Merit rated Hcp on sand?
Why are they betting like they know the result....maybe they do?
I know that no owner had a bob on the horse, and certainly not on the tote, but raced for the stakes,so you explain this to me!

The way they are hamering certain horses!! I wish I was sitting in Saigon/Sydney cause it seems they have the best form students in the world - amazing - Reminds me of the Redford movie(was it The Sting?) where the result was already known before the bets were taken!!!

Mr H,when it looks like a duck, sounds like a duck and swims like a duck-it's probably a duck....well at least to you and me.
Remember the old scam in SA which was a delay and subsequent relay of commentaries to the rooms.......is this not possible with data...only needs+- 90-120 seconds.
Something smells!
