Al, how can someone be taking money out of SA by placing bets in Aus and getting paid out in Aus?

Unless these bets are being placed after the race has been run there is no need for concern as these movements should balance out in the long run. To place bets after the race all that is required is for the race to be reopened briefly for ticket sales after the race is run and somebody at a tote machine knowing about this and then placing a few winning bets. This was happening in Zim about 20 years ago and just requires a bit of collusion. It would however be fairly obvious if a study on the winning tickets is done. If I was involved in a scam like this I would not be placing win or place bets but would cocentrate on exactas, trifectas and quartets where it is not so obvious as not everyone can see the dividends beforehand.

Nagboy - simple the pool is 100 000. Ausies win 70% of the pool or R70K and get paid 7K AUS$. South Africans are left with 30% of the pool or R30K to be divided amonsgt winners in SA - hence the low payouts. This should stand to reason.

Only if they can beat the 25% tote takeout. Seems highly unlikely and very unreasonable. IMO

My problem is that I'd say the guys posting on the net are reasonably informed as to the reason for tote payouts jumping after the off (or perhaps have a greater financial knowledge) while many of the punters in the tabs may not be exposed to the info that we have and immediately think there is some form of corruption going on. If you don't believe me stand in the tote and you'll hear "Jockey X just pulled the horse up" (I own shares in the horse and know the horse has limitations and was given a perfect ride) - this week I was in the tote in benoni and the guys were all moaning saying 'amarob'- they are robbing us- when they saw the dividends change. Best Phumelela leave Oudshoorn (the land of the ostrich) and tell us all via a press release (so that the normal punter with no internet portal) can understand why these anomilies are happening before there are no punters left.

Nagboy not true...lets say I back every horse in a 9 horse field for 10Aus $ each..and then cancell the 8 bets that didnt win?

Would that work?

Nagboy I have no proof that this may be true, I am just saying consider the possibilities:

1. As stated in my post above.
2. Perhaps there is a combination of what I am suggesting and what Oscar is suggesting.
3. A bit of repitition but perhaps people did not get my point on the first attempt or didnt read at all but:
i. why is this not happening with co mingled UK pools. The pound is a hell of lot stronger than the AUS dollar.

ii. Why are they comingling into our pools yet we are betting into our own pools on cart racing Singapore and Hong Kong racing. Is comingling a one sided arrangement. This is contrary to what p posts on their site.

Consider all of this with the excuse of ausie comingling being the problem as reported by PGE's mouth piece, Tellytrack.

There is a problem here someone is pulling the ring out of it local or abroad and I say this based on comingling with UK which does not present such problems at twice the exchange rate to the Aus dollar.

Give it some thought.

Hibs

did you read that crap, and to think that DACHARL posted this verbatim without quering it.

I know for a fact he is not involved in any way cause he couch surfs when he travels so he is not benefitting from this scam. But that there is a scam i have no doubt....
