no idea

Now i am not disputing that they have offered this deal but to alledge that this is common practice is rubbish. Then you start looking at the posted figures and lo and behold they too dont stack up. NOW all of a sudden "mr hard working" is in the mix as well and the figures are really looking suspect.

The way i seee it its quitre simple, if you want to get into racing and spend R6300 per month and "have fun" there are MANY MANY trainers in SA that will lease you a horse CURRENTLY running for ZERO %

Now of course i am not saying that there are NOT deals where the "owner" askes for a % of the earned stakes if that is the case i would tell them to go play with Leon. That type of deal is rubbish.

So ANYONE reading this post, i guarentee you that for the same investement you can have a share in a horse GREATER than 10%. Horses cost about R4000 to train plus VAT the "incedental" are not relevant as with Mr Goosesn in 2 and half years my vet bills were less than R5000.

So MR HARD WORKING has NOT put a great deal together probably because his "chop" makes the figures look horrible.

ill bet you that there are owners on this site that will gladly "lease" their horses at these rates.

Easy, so typical of you to run your mouth off with baseless statements. I am making absolutely nothing on the offer/deal. I have been tasked with photographing and cataloging a selection of horses for sale from the GVZ stable. These two fillies in particular I have identified as good value as they are forward and showing ability on the training tracks. The lease offer was put together to offer an affordable entry into horse racing ownership for those us who are not millionaires. GVZ training fees are R6300.00 ex VAT end of story. There has been no 'add-on' of any sort. These fees are market related and yes there are cheaper trainers, just as there are also more expensive ones. If the fees were such a rip off, the stable wouldn't be in business

Leon

go away and think again......

YOU came on here with bollocks. The word LEASE does not belong to the horseracing industry. The deal is rubbish (using words you chose) me i would prefer to say the deal is a f ucking disgrace and with ZERO upside for the prospective clients.

Thanks Dave. Now it looks like it should.

Sorry to give you a hard time with the numbers. :)

Does the trainer not take 7% as well, or is that an "optional extra"?

TH, the 14% Dave refers to is 7% to jockey and 7% to trainer (industry standard).
