Syndicate "the complete racing experience"

In an attempt to get more people involved in horseracing, I have been discussing a few options and would like you to consider the following, depending on the initial response other purchase/lease deals will be available from the stable.

Please note! these are budgetary figures and detail statements will be sent on a monthly basis. All payments will be done on a 3 monthly basis up front for the horses

Confirmation will be with your first deposit of R4,500

Please contact me if you require any further detail.

ABC lease syndicate offer

Gavin Van Zyl Racing Stables in conjunction with African Betting Clan has put together an affordable racing syndicate package to provide participants with the complete racehorse ownership experience

Herewith the Gavin Van Zyl racehorse ownership experience offer :

What you get

· 2x unraced 2 year old fillies on lease (ie. no purchase price) racing in your silks with first run in 4 to 6 weeks. (NB. Standard lease agreement applies ie. 75/25 stakes split)

· 3x month ownership commitment with option to renew or cancel thereafter

· Feedback and progress reports via email once weekly incl. pics and/or video

· Hosted visits to the stable and training tracks for an up close and personal look at what happens behind the scenes with the fillies

· Full raceday experience as a registered owner incl. access to parade ring, owners/trainers facilities etc. (hosted by African Betting Clan and the GVZ Racing Team)

· Both fillies receiving specialist attention on proprietary GPSHR training and monitoring program

· Training equipment includes GPS tracking and wireless heart rate monitoring technology (for recording and analysis of track workouts), in-house computerised equine treadmill and swimming pool

Costs

10 member syndicate; each member owns (on lease) 10% of both fillies.

Total payable per member upfront (to cover 1st 3 months training fees) = R4500.00 should cover training/NHRA/vet etc.

The Fillies

Sentebale : 2 year old bay filly by King of Kings (IRE) out of Shall We Flirt by Shalford (IRE)

..a leggy, light framed filly currently weighing in at 423kgs (deceptively light for her size). She has a good action and is of a similar fitness level to the current crop of 2 year olds stepping out. Visually and on pedigree, she is looking for ground and should be at her best over 2000m and further. Expect her ready to race competitively in 4 to 6 weeks.

Trance Party : 2 year old bay filly by Qui Danzig (USA) out of Dusty Dancer by Jungle Warrior

..a solid individual at a very similar level of fitness and development as Sentebale. Since joining the GPSHR program these two fillies have been working together. Aside from Sentebale showing slightly more promising stamina, there is nothing to chose between the two at this stage. It is difficult to predict Trance Party’s ideal distance this early, expect a mile or thereabouts. She will also be ready to race in the next 4 to 6 weeks, perhaps a little sooner.

Sorry if I'm getting my sums wrong but...

R4500 per member x 10 = R45 000.

This covers 3 months, so R15 000 per month for a leased share of two horses.

That works out to R7 500 per horse per month. That's madness.

Cheers Sabre the figures were a budget as stated above and "actual" costs will be shared.

The training fee is R7182 (R6300 + vat) syndicate to be formed/authority to act/colours/vet etc.

Any balance would be carried over or paid out.

Yikes, just shows how out of touch I am. Had no idea that training fees were anywhere near R6300+vat.

NEVER in my life i have heard of the "payers" of the leased horse GIVING 25% of the stakes to the "owner" If the owner wants stakes then PAY for the 25% or RACE it yourself. However to mug off the person leasing the horse......well that just does not seem the way.

Easy no expert on leasing horses, however have been informed that it is standard practice 75/25 split.

Dave

When you lease a car you agree a price and take the car, the oke you got the car from does not ask you for a lift every 4th weekend.

They might be trying this on but when i have leased horses then the risk of the leaser is "paid off" by stakes. The owner still owns the horse
and therefore the more it wins and the more value it obtains the better for the owner.

IMO that is a bad deal for the prospective owners. Not only are they going to pay

the jockey 10%
the trainer 7%
the Owner 25%
the stable present 5%

so 47% of stakes OUT

they are also paying in 100% of the bills.

If ANYONE takes this up i willbe surprised.

Well as I stated:

"In an attempt to get more people involved in horseracing, I have been discussing a few options and would like you to consider the following, depending on the initial response other purchase/lease deals will be available from the stable".

Also open for suggestions, outright purchases would also be an option, however the past tells me that not many "punters" have the initial outlay, but can also obtain some prices if the posters show an interest?

Just had call on lease, it works as follows:

stake less 7% for jockey and trainer = 14%

so 86% bal minus 25% owner = 61% syndicate
