SA middle order couldnt handle the pressure, the pitch was favourable for team bowling second & england exploited the pitch condition..... once SA lose their top 4 or 5 batsmen you go into an unknown zone with the middle-order we have..... only way to win this cup is to bowl the otheres out for a low score & hope to hell that the top 4 or 5 reach the score....

Thats the problem Winbyamile, SA can't handle the pressure batting second, we need to WIN THE TOSS and set the opposing team a score, then we may have a chance of winning the WC...

Please guys. Boucher has done nothing for Sa in ages. He deserved to be dropped.
Its too late to complain about the captain, the squad, etc. Moaning is not going to help. Lets do something positive for a change and get behind our boys.
Win, lose or draw they are still our team. They need our support.
To all the South African Indians who support India instead of SA, please pack your bags and go back to India if you think they are so great.
And yes I'm an Indian born and brought up in South Africa. This is my country.

wonbyamile you say the players have the knowledge of playing IPL in India. The two best performers for SA yesterday were Amla nad Petersen and the best performers for England were Trott,Bopara and Broad. Out of those 5 mentioned only Bopara plays in the IPL .SA fold like a pack of cards when the pressure is on just like Man United.

Plenty to agree and disagree with here. Agree with Scotia about it being the ideal time to lose. You don't want to be going into the quarters unbeaten as we have so many times before and then losing in the knockout stages. Agree that we definitely play better when defending a total so the toss is vital to our chances. I can't agree with the chokers title...these are different players to those that played at the last world cup unless you want to call all cricketers chokers. We are playing at a world cup and playing against the best the rest of the world have to offer. You need some luck along the way to win a world cup(like at the last world cup not meeting the All Blacks at any stage). When it comes to knockout it's anybodies game so I don't mind who we meet in the quarters, they will be just as afraid as we are. All and sundry calling the players chokers just adds to the pressure. Unless you have played in the middle against the best you would have no idea as to what kind of pressure the players are under to perform. Calling them chokers does not help. Would you call Felix a choker for losing on Rocket Man to JJ. I think not.

Yip, I agree with Shadley on most points.
Playing on the sub-continent is always going to be a challenge for us - most of the wickets are just too different to the ones back home; Yes we have now at leasr found a quality spinner, but my biggest concern is that the batsmen have never been comfortable on slow and turning wickets. So it is not a complete shock that we lost to England. But, we did not have the best of luck yesterday (losing the toss, Smith only just managed to glove the ball, Anderson just managing to knick De Villiers' bales) so we could just as easily have won - some you win, some you lose.
Looking ahead though, I really think we are going to need a some things going our way if we want to reach the final.
Bad sporting weekend for me though, Proteas lost, Lions lost, Bulls lost, Man U lost, missed the Turf P6 1 leg - the only thing I managed to win is the PA - and then I still had to pay in:(

Cannot agree with you regarding you dont want to get into the quarters unbeaten. Australia have not lost a world cup match since the Final against the Sri Lankans in 1996. They have won it 3 times in a row. Winning breeds confidence while losing sows a seed of doubt. If SA are in a close match again they will lose again.
