I hear you Mr H but without the option for jocks who are not employed by a big yard to travel and try to be competitive the title would be solely for the elitists and we would have the same jockeys year in and year out finishing in the top 2 or 3, the way things stand at the moment any jock who is prepared to put in the extra effort can be competitive but even then as the stats will show it is not easy...

Anton 7 rides today of which 6 are favourites. Gavin favourite in other 2. The bookmakers have pushed Anton out to 17/10 but if their prices are spot on the 2 should be square after today?:S

Couldn't agree more with Tigershark.
Why does Zim always come up as an issue? Most noticeably when the jockey in the lead makes a strategic choice to ride in Zim? If it provides him with an opportunity to increase his chances, why the hell not?
Zim counted towards the stats since Pa fell off the bus, and Pa fell off a very long time ago. Mr hawaii put that in your pipe and smoke it. If you are so vehemently opposed to the current set-up, approach the racing authorities and put your case forward in a more productive fashion. Your diatribe on this site is doing nill to change the rules that have been in existence for decades.
Secondly, as Tigershark put it, I think Gavin deserves to win. He came back after 6 weeks off with a broken leg in his quest to win the championship! He was several winners behind when he started racing again in June, but decided to give it a go anyway. I admire the perserverance and tenacity. The boy is probably still racing with a leg bone that has not fully healed.
Besides, he is better looking than Marcus.

At this stage Marcus looks money on, before race 8
Anton has again about 8 favs in the Cape on the final day vs Gavin with only fair chances.
