2012 Charity Turf Challenge
13 years 4 months agoRacing South Africa who hosts the Charity Turf Challenge (CTC) has the pleasure of welcoming aboard Gold Circle as the sponsor of the 2012 competition.
2012 Champions Season Charity Turf Challenge sponsored by Gold Circle
The Charity Turf Challenge is an exciting competition that offers fans of the sport of horseracing a unique opportunity to test their skill – after all, racing is the “Intelligent Bet!”
Racing South Africa, the competition host, will provide entry forms with a guide list of horses that are thought to be campaigning in KZN during Champions Season. Only horses from this list are eligible.
The aim of the Charity Turf Challenge is to select a team of horses you feel are most likely to score points during the period of Champions Season. A list of all the Graded races is provided and whilst the emphasis remains on these feature races, ALL winners throughout the country will be eligible to earn points. The 2012 Charity Turf Challenge kicks off on Gr.2 KRA Guineas Day, Saturday 5 May, and finishes on Gr.1 Ladbrokes Gold Cup Day, “Super Saturday”, 28 July.
The entrant with the most points at the conclusion of the competition will win R100 000, second placed R20 000 and third placed R10 000.
The hugely popular stand-alone prize is on Vodacom Durban July Day, also featuring the Gr.1 Garden Province Stakes, the Gr.2 Gold Vase and the Gr.3 Campanajo Stakes, run on Saturday, 7 July at Greyville Racecourse. The prize for the entrant with the most points earned on this day ONLY, is worth R20 000!
A fully revamped online entry system is available. Multiple entries are welcomed as this gives you more than one combination to run for you during the season.
The African Horse Sickness Trust (Reg. No. IT 2043/2005/PMB ) is the 2012 Charity Turf Challenge beneficiary.

why does it start this late? with the two feature races this weekend in kzn, punters are missing out on some good horses, especially the one King Karl is riding.

Does anyone know what horses like Igugu and The Appache that are missing the KZN season to follow an international campaign?
