Very confusing .... Wellspring definitely took part in the race .... not sure why he would be declared a non-runner by the Clerk of Scales ? Perhaps the jock weighed in at an incorrect weight ?

A race review was called by a member of the Stipendiary Board into the start of this race. It was established that, with regard to:
WELLSPRING (*L Hewitson);
The handler assigned to this gelding drawn in stall gate 2 had not removed the hood off this horse when the start was effected. This resulted in the horse losing a significant distance. The Board acting in terms of Rule 61.5.10.2, declared this horse to be a non-runner
