Think I heard that more than 100 of the deaths in SA yesterday was reported in the Free State - smacks of 'delayed reporting' again - might be more realistic to check the figures weekly - but still these only reflect REPORTED cases - as mentioned there are sure to be many more - still the recovery rate seems encouraging - taking into account that 'unreported recoveries' are probably also much higher than the 'reported' number ...
And then the Government's totally ridiculous ban on the sale of tobacco and alcohol - why not just up the 'tax' on these products significantly - imo would still be cheaper than the Black Market prices - and at least then the Government can collect the tax .... baffles my small mind

Unless some people (in "leadership" positions) are benefiting from the participants in the "black" market...

Is there actually any difference between our government and the people who where running racing?
As in so many things in this country if they do it why can't we?
They hardly ever get prosecuted exactly the same as our racing.
First thing these new owners of SA racing must do is bring every thief that ran our racing to book,if successful they could get back tens of millions.
First person I would look at is Larry Wainstein and the sectional timing debacle.
I hope they don't just sweep things under the carpet and forget the unscrupulous people that brought our racing to it's knees.

And with these entities, and many others, as the incumbents who create a mess are removed, they are replaced by people associated to them, who knew the wrongs being committed but turned a blind eye to quietly partake in the looting or to position themselves for future benefits or titles / positions...
I'm middle aged so have enough knowledge and experience to make a plan and wade through the current difficult and future worse times to come...I really worry about the next generation like my 12 year daughter and the economic burden they will carry for current profligacy..."government" only has two sources of revenue...current taxes and future taxes (current borrowings)...printing money just leads to inflation and will decrease the spending power of the poorest quickest so not a route to be taken until the ANC knows they are going to lose the vote of those dependent on the state and that is some way away...
So, worrying times currently and even tougher times to come...
Gandhi said something along the lines of us having more than everyone's need but not enough for a few people's greed...prescient...

And WHO are still reminding people we are still in the 1st wave (worldwide) and not heading to a second like the western leaders like to mention...
The 1st wave is not over....
