I don't need to check anything FC, I watched it. Not sure anyone else needs to check it either as it was fairly evident that the new ball was extremely important. But, if you honestly did not feel even the slightest bit of tension and never thought SA were in any danger of losing then bully for you, I suspect you were in the vast minority. I have repeatedly said I think SA are the better team and deserved their win, stats are not required. That does not mean there were not opportunities for England to have changed it and I think that is also true.

The Proteas are in the lovely position with having two top order and top class batsmen in Kallis and De Villiers holding 2 positions, Kallis is a great in cricketing terms and to be the 4th seamer means you can play an extra batsmen. De Villiers also a classy batsmen that keeps wicket makes it easy to play 7 top batsmen and 4 out and out bowlers, if needed, Philander is also an all rounder as shown in the last test.
I just wish the English commentators would stop comparing Kallis to Flintoff. One is the best all rounder off all time and would be in the top 10 batsmen. Flintoff is a good all rounder but leagues apart from Kallis.

lmao - I've not heard that bud! Who was it? No comparison, one was a passing whirlwind of occasional greatness, the other a true great. Not sure I would go so far as to say the best ever (I'm not that old
) but definitely right up there in the top rank (tu)

Englander can you name me another all rounder who has scored 10000 plus runs at an average over 55 and 270 plus wickets?

Nope. And I'm not going to look either
He is a terrific player and he is right up there with the very best and thats enough for me. Do we need compare? Besides, stats include games against Zim, Bangladesh etc, they only tell part of the story. But if you want to call him the best, I have no issue with that, I'm just not going to
