It truely was an amazing innings by Amla - yes he was dropped twice, but he seemed to have lots of times for all his shots, while the others were strugging with timing on a slowish pitch
They also showed a stat that AB was 4th fastest in history to 5,000 ODI runs - at this rate Amla will shatter that record as well (tu)

This must be the quote of the week..............
Here's qualified international cricket coach Rahul Oak: "@John Muir: Maybe Bopara is there because he is good for team unity? England have already shown they prefer that to talent."

Hows all those English fans leaving the match with 15 overs still to go. Why cant they support their team until the death Englander? Wont bother asking Dave as Chelsea fans leave their seats during the match to go and have a Pimms and Brushchaetta sarnies in the boxes.

What a great player he has become. Even Botham is praising him and that takes some doing.

LOL, you should have been at Melbourne for the Boxing Day test CnC, I reckon 65% of the Aussies had gone by tea. Mate the simple fact to me is that 1 day or 20/20 cricket is nothing more than passing entertainment for those who think they can't spare the time to go and watch proper cricket. They don't even go for the cricket as such, they go for a day out and hope its a game England win off the last ball and they can say I was there! Dads take kids etc etc and once it looks destined to be a defeat or not even close, they go, they have their all important business meeting at 6 the following morning etc etc. Personally, I find one-day cricket even more boring than the rubbish served up at Clairwood today and am quite happy shoving off to the pub to watch the rest on tv. I was in SA for the ICC games and found them better than most and was fortunate to go to the England games against India (tied), Ireland (loss) and SA (won) in the World Cup which were probably three of the best games ever... the truth is though that I was nearly persuaded to leave the Ireland game early (but glad I didn't as the lad who got the 100 was fantastic) and I did leave the SA game when SA were cruising at only 3 down. It is not really a question of support CnC, I don't think anyone can question British support for their teams across the globe, but if your bored, your bored.
Btw... I do hope, very good and "promising" though he may be, no-one is yet trying to compare Amla to the great Sir Viv??
