If the DRS was in operation when Warne was playing and also if both umpires were neutrals as they are today, then Warne would not have come close to picking up 200 wickets let alone the amount that he he took. Those Aussie umps stuck up their fingers 80% of the time whenever he and Healey appealed

Muril was one heck of a bowler. so good in fact thatThe Aussies tried to get him kicked out because they said he was a chucker.
Why is it that SA cannot produce or have never produced a world class spinner? I know when i was a lighty Hobson and Morris played for WP and they were goodish as was that spinner from Natal, Henwood or something like that. Alan Kourie was good but he ate far too much but not as much as Richie Kashula lol

Don't forget Clive Exteen who bowled most of the 5th day on a wearing Wanderers pitch and couldn't get Atherton or Russell out.

there was a guy from EP, Shaw a tall left arm spinner and Robbie Armitage who was a better batsman then bowler. I think its because SA always have had good fast bowlers, Garth and my Steve were great when they played together and would have been devastating if they had their time in International cricket. Just imagine how many wickets those two would have taken. We would not have needed a spinner.

Those were the day's...Dennis Hobson 'klapping' a 6 late on a Monday afternoon over the keepers head at Newlands when WP played TVL
REMEMBER
ONE OF the attractive things about cricket is that it can take all sorts. The well-rounded Colin Milburn, the long and lean Curtly Ambrose. Massive Joel Garner and minute Harry Pilling. Ten-to-two-feet for Derek Underwood, barely a neck on Gladstone Small. Baghwat Chandrasekhar bowled wrist spin for India with a polio-withered hand, Richie Kashula bowled left-arm spin for Rhodesia carrying more than 20 stones of beer and barbecue around his formidable girth. Whatever the trainers and dieticians say cricketers must be ball-players first and athletes after.
Classic

a question to englander
why is it that you blokes deface your national flag at cricket matches (on tour) by informing the world which football team you support? or where in England you hale from.

suppose he could not get Atherton out because Atherton picked up all the loose sand on the wicket and stuck it in his pocket. (well he has history of doing that when fielding)

Never done it CnC but many of them take the flags to football as well. No-one sees it as defacing, simply as a statement of the fact that a) you are English or British and b) that is the team you support or where you live. It is also an easy way for players to see the amount of support around a stadium or for friends/family to know where you are in the ground or simply that you are there. Never known anyone take offence to it. I've never asked the question of anyone so it could be rubbish but I suspect that covers much of it.
