Rob, you seem very strong on the name being all-important which, as I think I might have mentioned once or twice here
I am not. And I also see a lot of sense in the reasons others are giving for not using them. But, with regard to your goodself, I have no idea who you are, what you do, or that you have involvement with the NHA or whatever. In fact until you said it here, I had no idea it was your real name, suspected but did not know. If you called yourself "The Sensible Man" (as I think you almost certainly are lol) I would not view your opinions any differently. You think that other people would? And these people who contacted you away from the forum over issues raised... did they know or know of you previously? Its all non-important, just interested.

Englander, the calls I got were NOT threatening or aggressive (maybe I should be surprised that I haven't had any of those ) but in each case I was told that they were prepared to answer my concerns as posted, but would not respond on the forum and be subject to anonymous abuse...........whilst everybody is ENTITLED to an opinion it does not mean everybody is QUALIFIED in respect of the opinions they offer!
I recently had to consult a structural engineer on some subsidence issues and it cost me R10,000............my gardener would have given me his advice for R10.............do you think I wasted my money................lol

I must agree with you - many of the open meetings that the RA put on had almost more RA Board Members than owners present -

Mr H,Is there anything on record that was achieved by the RA as a consequence of those meetings ie.were any concerns of members sorted?

I (certainly hope I) did not say they were abusive or aggressive Rob, I never got the impression they were... I had the impression that they were helpful responses which is why I am interested to know if they knew or knew of you previously, as, if so, they would obviously feel more inclined to contact you.
Unfair question (lmao!), but being the honest soul I am... sorry, but yes, I do!! But, without wanting to stir any feelings of wrath toward me lol, that was surely your choice and sometimes we all make bad decisions. Perhaps I should have call you "The Not So Sensible One"!!
< Rob, I am totally unqualified to do my jottings on the sand meetings, and of course they could all go pear-shaped at the next meeting, but I don't think I have done so bad thus far for an amateur and I think that occasionally I must scribble something that is useful to someone somewhere...??? I blardy hope so anyway or I really am wasting my time!! Maybe I should call myself "The Idiot", but then again, I already do!
Being qualified does not entitle all to basic common sense.

Rob I'm trying to recall - LG would be better placed to answer as we attended the first one together and thereafter I stopped attending as I no longer owned any snails - I recall them showing us a bag of soil/ composite for Polytrack etc - Much of the time was spent on "old" issues Grooms Racing Trust etc but I did find the RA open to talk and answer questions from the floor

My emphasis of "not threatening" was merely to point out that people will react that way in the interests of clarification...........not cos you said so...........nor did qualification refer to opinions on form..or your jottings.
The issues I refer to are specific to the local industry and not being local, would not expect you to have a feel for, as many are the relativity between the old Club and new Corporate racing.
Englander ,it is clear we do not understand each other so lets just leave it at that!

lol, I actually think I understand you quite well Rob
And you are quite correct that I do not have "a feel for the relativity of old Club and new Corporate racing".
The reason I mentioned form/jottings was merely to show that just because someone is not qualified in a certain area does not mean that they cannot be of benefit. I thought that was quite clear but, if I am struggling to make myself understood, I am very happy to leave it at that (tu)

Rob,
what i was trying to convey was that people have been posting as who they are for ages and ZERO engagement and acceptance if the topic was FOUNDED. SO i am saying that posting in your name is wonderful BUT if i think a trainer is kak and now i tell him he is kak in my name NOTHING changes.
for me it makes no diffs, post in your name or not. If you have something important to say only the same people will hear it.
