was meant to be up and running for champions cup meeting end of july a year ago..when you don't have competition then you don't have to worry and this disease lingers throughout the industry ..where they have competition ie the bookies they run a distance last

It is hardly rocket science.
Tracking unit costs R650
Data bundle for a month R40
x 20 field

Tracking station and data capture would be the only real costs which aren't bombs to employ

listening to craigs commentary saying theres no pace on reminded me of the promise of sectional timing around 18 months ago ..reading through the posts on this topic reminds me of a few govement organizations promises and failure to deliver on time

Pirates maybe they realised the initial cost wasn't worth it ?

The racing industry would have used it for sure and a handful of " proper punters"

But most other punters would have just looked at the screen and said " oh look at the pretty graphics "

come on bob this information is not just for punters its mainly used for jockeys and trainers ...every jockey worth his salt will tell you that pace makes a race and you read any book on racing and most horses workouts are done on times with jockeys having a proverbial clock in their heads ...this information is priceless to punters owners trainers and mostly to the benefit of jockeys..its no use jockeys or anyone saying they went to slow for me or the race caller saying they crawling WE WANT THE FACTS
