I am way behind here -
The last time I heard about sectional timing was when Larry went to a meeting on the same day as the Arc on Sunday 4 October 2015 and did not attend the race.
Sorry I have no idea. Maybe we should ask the RA - it makes sense that they are the ones arranging this , Or so we are meant to believe or does Larry work for the operators . A very confusing situation.

Bob and Rob
Lets be positive Sectional Times are so important and can only assist us . I just hope and trust that they are accurate as sometimes you look at times of a race from Publication A - B and C and then the Stipes report very seldom are they all in agreement.
A positive if we can get it right as in America they swear by sectional times for punters owners and trainers take them very seriously.

We are now in May - Four Months - Don't think there is to much urgency here.
Is this a Financial Problem or a Technical Problem ?
I wouldn't hold my breath here, they seem to be undeliverable promises. I just wonder if this does never take off, who head is going to roll for wasting all the Operators / Shareholders funds.

Thanks Craig.
To me a computer is a computer and software is software.
So if it works in other countries , why should it be technical ?
In a world of technology and Iclouds etc - I cant quite understand that excuse , for example Google Maps are Google Maps in any country - and GPS is GPS -
Is South Africa so far behind the rest of the world when it comes to this?
I was actually referring to tests at the Vaal , Two different operators , this is the result of that.
something is rotten in the state of Denmark - Just for a change.

Thanks Bob that makes more sense , so who got fired at GC for buying the lemon. No Body . In a real corporate world you would be standing in the UIF line for that - But not in Horse Racing Michel Nairac (CEO) - Still around - not a word in the press - No Press statement - we must guess or still lets rather sweep it under the carpet.

Has it all been lies till now? Anyone?
If the whole thing isn't just a con of false promises, then will it be GPS based? Was fascinating when Mike de Kock new that California Chrome had run an extra 30-odd meters in Dubai.
Seeing as our lot change entire bends without ever moving the start, we hardly ever know the distance of the race, let alone the trip for each runner.
At least we proved one thing... obviously you don't really die from shame or embarrassment.

Spend hundreds of thousands on an airshow that nobody really cares about but cant sort out the sectional timing. The insert they had months ago with the guy showing GPS tracking looked like rubbish and has now turned out rubbish... Should have asked The Magi for help from the beginning.
What did the airshow cost exactly? Anyone know? Why waist money on something like that?

Is that fact or your assumption?

Tigershark, did GC pay for the airshow or was it run by a separate company who paid GC for the venue?
