correct hibs a world class racecourse ...it breaks my heart when i go there like today thinking that it will be soon gone and we will have to put up with a pair of racecourses where one is similiar to a greyhound track and the other described by lester as a pony track....

Already SOLD Hibs, money in the bank, I think. Where's Craig, perhaps to give an update. The course on it's last legs for 2 yrs until the peace and tranquility is shattered and the rolling tyres and roaring engines of pantechnicons descend upon the area and change the face of the landscape forever.

Perhaps grandchildren will be told one day that there was a time when champions romped and fortunes traded there on that what used to be called Clairwood Park, the Garden Course.:(

.....It's like finding out your last life's passion is terminal....going to lose it just like those others
in your earlier years..... gone with the same malignancy.... I feel for those that made it part of their lives and I spent some time there this past July.... it's much sadder when an on course training facility is closed down affecting peoples lives, especially those that have been there for a long time... to uproot and move to an uncertain future.....

Money in the bank. 3 trainers sitting in the trainers room yesterday all said they prefer Scottsville and Greyville. By far my worst course results wise.

now this is the biggest non sense I read for the long time, craig are you the spin doctor for gold circle re? how you can say this is worst course is the joke may be the problem with the 3 trainers it lie in the mirror no fit horse? the longest straight the widest track. it is not the mineshaft or dependant on the draw 1 to 5 for a victory. read some thing here you under stand things better (td)

The Fox and the Grapes

ONE hot summer’s day a Fox was strolling through an orchard till he came to a bunch of Grapes just ripening on a vine which had been trained over a lofty branch. “Just the things to quench my thirst,” quoth he. Drawing back a few paces, he took a run and a jump, and just missed the bunch. Turning round again with a One, Two, Three, he jumped up, but with no greater success. Again and again he tried after the tempting morsel, but at last had to give it up, and walked away with his nose in the air, saying: “I am sure they are sour.”
“IT IS EASY TO DESPISE WHAT YOU CANNOT GET.”

when u own shit horses like i do you actually would prefer the pony or greyhound track where luck becomes a big factor and draw a major factor....but most normal people like to see the best horses win more often than not and clairwood often produces that....for once flash has spoken sense..any reason why a champion trainer has said that the inner track at greyville will be the death of natal racing?

Clairwood racecourse, my first racecourse that I visited when I was a schoolboy, age 14. I will never forget the experience as it was during December. The first race was won by a horse called Driven Snow (Sire - Enforce) ridden by none other than Striker Strydom. Those Enforce breeds was tops until it perished very early in his stud career. I can remember Desert Salute winning that day as well.

On another trip witnessed Secret Pact and Hot Seven fighting out the finish on the opposite ends of the rails. That was a superb finish. Seeing Flobayou winning its 3rd of its Mercury Sprint, i think dead heating with Shoe Express. Seeing Spoke Express winning the now called Champions Cup. Also Flaming Rock winning 3 Schweppes Challenge beating Secret Rites in his 3rd victory. The list is endless (tu)
