FC all those factors are already taken into account before the punters/bookmakers come to who the favourite should be.

Being from upcountry.... the coastal left hand tracks were totally alien to me.... and when I younger did not understand the allure and could not grasp this style of racing.....now that I understand the principals and style of racing at Clairwood....races are far easier to read and I have bigger wagering successes.....also no fairer track to step out juviniles down the straight despite the draw bias....really going to miss this venue and although sold... racing there still planned for next 2 years...

Thats my boy, some of these "clanners"are f_____ doff, they feel Clairwood is the fairest due to its long straight, drawn wide around the bend or drawn down the inside in the straight, you're f_____d. Depending on where the false rail is at Greyville, you have a chance and can assist horses that have different running styles.

Who gives a toss about this subjective cr@p...........best.............. not best?.
Bottom line is the sale of the most valuable asset and a chunk of the proceeds being "invested" improving leased property.........brilliant.........what will that do to the NAV in the long run..........................if you need a clue ,look at "P"s NAV today compared to what it would be,if they hadn't disposed of the assets(at current values), they were gifted.
The good news for me is that my ashes will be scattered by the time the clowns killing local racing, finally succeed.

Seems what was established by this thread is that perople have different opinions about the influence of the draw at the various tracks - and on the whole it seems that being drawn 'badly' is a factor on all the tracks.
Looking at the bigger picture, of course it was financially the best option to sell Clairwood - but the question remains if it was in the best interest of horse racing in general; that will always be a matter of opinion - and for me it is like selling Newmarket all over again - just a better price tag.

Well said Frodo I fully concur....,not nice but necessary.....its how the money is now used for the betterment of racing and not to enrich the select few.....money wisely invested in racing's future will be 1st prize.... Let them learn from our poor past mistakes .....
