I can't see how much extra revenue can be gained by having Flamingo on a Sunday and in the bigger picture over a year it would have made no difference.

I am no fan of Flamingo but I do feel most of the problems created in the centre are due to Phumelela's NON management.

Not quite .....Phumulela don't mismanage Flamingo...they mismanage everything!

Ziets I take no pleasure in your misfortune, as much as I hate the groot gat, you guys dont deserve the treatment handed out. As highlighted before, Phumelela have mismanaged this track that MdK is on record as saying is one of the best he has raced horses on, to something that is unraceable after a few drops.

As much as this is disappointing for the owners/trainers/jockeys etc the loss of today's meeting was completely out of the operator's hands...I was amazed to receive this sms at 6 am today, imo a great initiative by the operators to compensate those who were unable to race today and I may add the first time in my 45 years of racing that acceptances have ever been limited to runners from a lost meeting...credit were credit is due, well done to the operator for this unprecedented course of action...(y)
N.B. Flpk 13-Feb, Entries re-opened for carded horses only from Sun 05-Feb. Entries cls at 9 on Mon 06-Feb

Titch in Peter Millers day this meeting would have taken place. For you to say this was out of the operators hands is absolute bs.

OTA Peter M was top class but he wasn't a miracle worker ..I can remember on more than one occasion driving to Kim with Andrew only to leave later because of a meeting being abandoned due to inclement weather rendering the track hazardous for horse and rider...how can you possibly want to blame the operators for a rain affected track....??????
If the truth be told back in Peter Millers day this meeting would not have even been an option....lost meeting was exactly that a lost meeting no matter what the reason for losing it was..

Only horses that were due to run today can be added to the weights that were done and dusted on Friday past..The weights have been reopened to accommodate those who were unable to race today which means they will not have to wait for the next set of noms.
I certainly cannot recall this ever being done..
