Mr. Hawaii,
Funny thing is that the Americans are struggling even more than we are. They are facing more race course closures and a huge dip in betting profits.
The only reason why their big events are still big is because of the fact that these events are STEEPED in history. They have come a long way.
Also they have the populice here. Almost 300 million people in the US. Bound to find a racing enthusiast or two
I do agree with you however that there could be some ideas translated from one country to another.
Ideally we should try to get with a big sponsor such as Emirates (I know they are in strife right now but that is the type of hype we want)
Perhaps we can try Etihad Airlines.....(The airlines owned by the more "conservative" prince of Abu Dhabi and by all accounts right now probably more affluent than Sheik Mo!!!)

Alcaponee:
More digestible route, your electronic suggestion; get everyone's input, feel the weight, clear cobwebs...chart way forward!
Give me a week or so to dig up the various notes and minutes!
Scotia:
Can you pls forward alcaponee's email address to me?
Tnx!
I can see clearly now!!!!

My next involvement could be on a corporate level - buying shares instead of horses. Pillage and plunder is starting to sound quite sweet. Mugabe's of this world have a certain charm when you are on the right side of the fence

I maybe foolishly believed that these forums could make a difference. I now know better.
Very dissapointed by the response I got from whats posted above - 1 email.
Anyway will not go martyr and refuse to post but would like to say the following:
1. Think before you post. The apathy shown by the response to the suggestion suggests that forumites are just bitter and have nothing of significance to contribute. No one will ever take anything posted here or on any other forum seriously. I certainly wont anymore.
2. I wonder if we love racing or love to bitch.
3. Well done Homer you called it as you saw it.
4. The employees of the operators who read this must be pissing themselves laughing. Look at the voice of the punter not even a squeak never mind a voice.
Anyway probably a blessing in disguise - will look for something more deserving of my energy to put my energy into.
Enjoy your racing while it lasts and dont bitch when its a balls up or gone. You've done nothing to better it. Thats to all that post and the many that just read.

Over it Hibs - People dont read much higher than 2 posts before their own. Happy to just join the ranks of the apathetic and see what happens. I have probably waisting to much time and energy on racing anyway.
Well done on the Mick Goss / Summerhill feedback by the way

Al,
I'm with Hibernia here, just give the boys some time. Scareing them off by telling everybody not to bother could be a little extreme.
I believe that there are some very passionate people who post here as well as some very knowledgeable people who can make a difference.
Perhaps give it a few days and if nobody responds to your offer then call it quits. Give the gears a chance to work!
