what really surprised me yesterday on Summer Cup days was that in Kelvins bar,the tote facilities have capacity for 5 tote operators - YET ONLY 3 WERE IN ATTENDANCE........ ON SUMMER CUP DAY, someone please wake up, this is supposed to be the busiest day at the big T for the whole year.

What other sad stories are out there ?

Mr H;

Same crap; punters are no more than customers- they buy the product/s, they cannot be partners/shareholders in the horseracing entity!

This classic comparison was made repeatedly during the corporatisation.

You right; so what is the industry exactly if it does not cater for its customers?

Typical 'apartheid' baaskap mentality, now being plugged on all dissenters!

"Annually Lusito Land attracts over 140 000 visitors, from all age groups and various economic sectors, and from all around Gauteng."(have a look at the crowds)
Nothing wrong with the area - marketing is the problem full stop!!

I had booked a table for 8 in the furious room for the summer cup through the normal contact number the other people are all one race meeting a year type of people however have got them to the races twice this year and this would have been the 3rd as they found the cost of the outing good value , and they are not shy to place a large bet.
I then got a phone call from Warick catering asking for a deposit and when i asked the cost I was told R570. I contacted the others and was told that they did not see value in this and I should cancel the booking which i did.

When i first called I was told they were fully booked however i could book on the deck. I then recieved the sms to state that i need to pay a deposit +and when i heard the cost I cancelled as staed in previous post . I then phoned to see if i could get a table in the furious room and was told to phone Warick Catering which i did and was told that they had 6 and 4 seaters available and the cost was still R570 so there must have been cancellations
