I also lost my money on Abercrombie trying to close a quad), however the horse does have a history of losing lengths at the start, look through it's history, been slow away on every time. Guess hindsight is an exact science.
Guessing has never been widely acclaimed as a good gambling strategy.

I as an owner don't think it happens a lot..however I think it might happen a bit..Im with the Snaiths and Kotzen in Cape Town and with them I know for an absolute fact they try together with their Jocks 100% every race...however in saying that it might appear that some horses around the country are definitely in races which they cannot win..even though the are backed and sometimes even favorite.

Johnny stop speaking from your pocket. Why do you play horses if you think that racing is so crooked? My advice is to phone Ernie Rodrigues tomorrow, 021 7001900, and go watch the replays with them. I am sure he will happily tell you how they saw it. I don't for one minute believe that any of these kids riding in Cape Town are purposely trying to get horses beat. They are still young and still make a lot of mistakes as do the more experienced jocks. It's not an easy job. Since I have stopped riding I've really come to believe that the saying is true that the best jockey's are in the grandstand, sadly I have become one of them too. This could be a great site. Why are people so negative?

Hi Andrew, nice to see your comments on the clan, its nice to get a jockey's perspective. There are mistakes made by the younger jocks, This I am sure is accepted and as long as they learn from it they gain their experience and don't make it a wekly occurance. What we cannot accept is when some of the senior jocks make so called mistakes week in and week out. After all they are professionals and we the public that keep this sport alive expect better. Some don't ride to the line, when the going is on the outside, they take the hot pot fav on the inside etc, etc. Personally i think the penalties are to light and sometimes they don't even get penalties. Maybe what is needed is more information fromthe racing authorities. If a horse had a problem in the race it should be communicated to all parties. The stipes reports needs a relook at and more information needs to be provided. In some onther posts it was mentioned the info available to the racing public in Mauritius why don't we have that here. In SA only people in the Know gets reasons. There should be explainations especially concerning poor runs from the top five in the betting.
Just my thoughts whether from pocket or not
