Theo Venter got the lot life and a claim to fame as having crossed the line on a horse sideways...

The very best thing you ever did and all the best to you - If ever you feel the urge to slip rember how bad you felt when you last lost and walk away - I am striving for the same result - still love predicting a winner but I think of how hard I have to work to earn my cash and it seems crazy to blow it on the races - also i hate getting angry about things i cannot control - I have control over the money in the bank and it's up to me to ensure i don't blow it (or double it - I obviously do win sometimes) on a whim - I bet you if you keep it up you'll have more winning rides then most Jockeys not in the top 20!!

Brandon morgernrood, Gavin Howes, Theo Venter etc. I can assume these jocks have committed these crimes/misdeeds due to greed, fear of the mafia/bookies/agents etc....this group of miscreants benefited financially...to the detriment of the poor punter who purchased his race card & study horses form...then backs the horse...losses his money...he should not complain because he might receive a comments like 'that's racing'.....I can deduce that the jockeys are ponds in the greater scheme of things....the real people that's controlling racing are the mafia/bookies/agents....these are the people making money from racing...these are the people that are dogmatic that racing is a clean sport...while they rape the punter....they are the ones that need to protect this corrupt industry because they benefit the most from racing ...they don't realize that they are killing the goose that lays the golden egg which is the punter...no punter no horse racing

One of my favourites...If anyone is interested...
Extract from "How To Win At The Races" by Sam (The Genius) Lewin. ISBN 0-97980-244-8.
"The fact is that fixing a race is extremely difficult (sic) because horses dont necessarily run the way you'd like them to. (Many years ago)...... they made a movie on the life of Man O' War. One scene called for the re-enactment of the 1919 race when Man O' War suffered the only defeat of his 21-race career, appropriately to a horse named Upset. They had to run that scene about a dozen times because one of the horses, who wasn't supposed to be the winner, kept winning. It took several days of pulling and hauling by the jockeys before the horses finished in the order called for by the script".

Why do the police never get involved in looking for corruption and cheating in horse racing?

I've read that before, Mac. I've seen racing movies where jockeys would be banned for two lifetimes if they rode like that in a real race.

Horse racing is like wwf wrestling, the moves had been work out longtime, all that you do is finished at the end, eating up the ground but to late, felix won with 9-2. Karl 2nd favourite, got scracth on the off grant v niekerk favourite 2nd, 3 scratching in the field,no deduction in the end,lol what a show case...they can fool you guys but not for me .aikona.the jockeys must be expose for what the are, they can't fool around with the punters and the owners money, the must go to mauritius, there the don't take shit, they send you with the same lplane home if you wanna crook.
